In life, every individual has a choice to either sit on the sidelines or use his/her many talents and resources for something bigger and more important than themselves.   Learn more about this disease and volunteer time to local Alzheimer's Association Chapters and support groups.

VOLUNTEER

Provide respite care for family members going through Alzheimer's disease.  Patients often live at home and receive most of their care from family, loving spouses or significant other care partners.  Those folks need occasional relief and some brief times for themselves.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers help alleviate the high costs associated with Alzheimer's care.  Simply providing transportation to the store or to a doctor's appointment can be a tremendous help since driving privileges are frequently taken away from dementia sufferers. Furthermore, public transportation may not be a good alternative for someone with Alzheimer's who may experience moments of disorientation.
